Until next time...
This was sent through one of my favorite groups Fiber Goddess on yahoo. So I decided to try it. I haven't touched my cards in many months.
~ Waxing Moon Tarot Reading ~
The Moon is currently a waxing crescent.
To learn what this waxing Moon has in store for you, pick a significator card (which represents you) from a Tarot deck. Think about your questions as you shuffle the deck. Focus on specifics, such as an aspect of your career, love, or health. Pick two cards. Add the significator to the other two and shuffle. Turn cards up. If your card is first, then the other two say where you are headed. If in the middle, then one card explains the past and the other the future. If last, then events that have already taken place continue to affect you.
My significator is the Sorcress (High Priestess). I used the Shapshifter deck, one of my favorites.
My card came up last so the other two are events that have taken place that continue to affect me. Of course, it is in the area of love and I wonder if the BF will ever make that commitment to take the next step and finally marry me...after almost 7 years of living together. *sigh* Someone has filled his manly head full of fears of marriage. Yay...*sigh* Sometimes I wonder if I should wait around for him because if I do and we end up going our seperate ways, it will mean I have wasted a big chunk of life just waiting around for that special moment to finally arrive. It's like that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow...you think you are getting closer and then discover that you are farther away than before. Of course finding that pot of gold is slim to none.
My other two cards were Change (surprise!) and Harmony. I'm not sure how Harmony could be affecting me, but change is constant as I am dealing with an early Saturn return. Yippie. Not fun. Saturn on my natel chart is in my Second house which is money and finances. I can feel the pinching of each penny. Ouch!
Maybe the Harmony is the lack there of that is affecting me. I have been for the longest time trying to find what is right for me. I followed Wicca for the last 6-7 years and now I feel it is no longer for me. So I have been looking into Shamanism and Native American beliefs but I still am not sure. Yah, that makes more sense to me. The lack of Harmony, is what is affecting me spiritually, emotionally and physically. Yay....where is the enchanting life I was looking for? Blah.
Until next time...
I couldn't help it, I had to be a shutter bug. Zarnan sits in his water dish a lot more now-a-days since I changed the bedding. The humidity is lower and I suspect that is why he is finally using the water like it was intended to be used. I have a giant sponge in under the lamp to help raise the humidity and rewet it on a daily basis.
Here is those mittens I mention a couple posts back. I designed the snowflake pattern on graph paper. I forgot a few colored stitches here and there but that's fine. No snowflake is perfect. I will design another snowflake for the other mitten, because no two snowflakes are alike. *G*
This is a video from my cell phone earlier in the year to document where I like to sit and knit when I am out and about. Click on the 50% to see it less pixilated. It's a cell phone, now a hightech gadget so pixilation will occure with my videos. Thank you You Tube for allowing people to upload vids to share for free! Until next time...
I was cleaning out the cell phone memory when I found a bunch of old pictures that I want to share. The first two are of the old oak tree that I love. I've seemed to have bounded with it and we've had some heartfelt conversations before. I cannot visit it in the summer, the bugs bother me too much, but this time of year and all throughout the winter I will be stopping to say hello and chat. I love trees, dunno why, just do.
I went for my coffee walk this morning and while cutting through the local graveyard I found some interesting things. The first picture is a nice fall shot of one part of the graveyard. You may think me wierd for cutting through a graveyard of all places, but I've got to tell yah-it's the most peaceful place I have ever walked. It's by a major roadway, and once you get into the graveyard, the sounds of the traffic dissapear. It's really nice.
I found this gravesite decorated with hand carved pumpkins! I thought they were soooo cute! I figure it must be someones parent there. I got a sense of so much happiness while I was standing there studying these three pumpkins. It's as if whoever is buried there, thier spirit is very happy about the pumpkins.
You can't see it very well but in the next picture there is a small white gourd that has a glittered heart on it. I took these pictures with my cell phone. Not the best camera in the world, but it does the job without me having to hull my older and heavier digital. I plan on getting a new one, and soon. Target has the one I have been googling at on sale for $50 less than anywhere else till the new year. I am hoping this next payday will be the one were I can get it. It'll end up being better than what I have (Canon Powershot A10) and cheaper than what I paid for the old one to boot. I want the Canon Powershop 540 which will be around $150 before taxes while my old one was $250. The A10 is one of the first ones Canon put out. The newer one is also 5 Megapixals while my older one is a mere 1.5 megapixals. WOW. AND, lets not forget, that the newer one takes only two AA batteries while my old one takes FOUR. That makes for a heavy camera.

I got the book Slip Stich Knitting from the library and I knitted this swatch of one of the patterns. After thinking hard about it, and trying it, I finally 'got it'. I was wanting to try this with the mittens, but I don't think it will work with what I want to do. I will have to stick with intarsia knitting.
Until next time...
WALKING IN A KNITTERS' WONDERLAND Sung to the tune "Walking in a Winter Wonderland"
Needles click, I'm a knittin
Tell me where, it is written
That I have to clean
You're just being mean
I'd rather sit and knit the live long day
Here's the yarn, here's directions
Make mistakes, make corrections
Knit one purl two, you know what to do
Walking in a knitters' wonderland
In the winter I can knit a sweater
I'll pretend it's for a movie star
He'll say are you married I'll say yes sir
But I'll knit you seat covers for your car
Later on, we'll go shopping
We all know, there's no stopping
It's such a big thrill
Except for the bill
Walking in a knitters' wonderland
Until next time...

Oh she is coming right along! Her head and arm is not attached yet, but this is a ruff draft of her shape. I added her boobs this morning, and they came out well. You can barely see them, but there are there.
It looks like from this picture that I need to add more black to cover the stuffing base. It really takes a while to shape the arms. At first I made it too big, so I had to start a new one. And then it was still too big so I kept poking and poking at it and finally it shrunk to my satisfaction. I am going to have to stick it into a pot of dye as the base fiber is showing and it is white and yellow.
Now imagine black locks of fleece hanging from her arm, now invision both arms like that. The hanging locks will represent her feathers and ability to shape-shift. I am not sure if I will add any hair or not. The alpaca I tried to dye black came out more brown, so maybe I'll add some of that for hair on Her head.
I gotta stop poking myself! I am gonna have quilters calluses on my fingers if I don't!!
Now what to name Her? Just Crow Goddess, or Crow Calling Woman? What do you think?
I think CONTEST!!! Name my Crow Goddess to win a marvoulous one of a kind beaded stitch markers! Any takers??
Until next time...

OkayI think I have the basic techniques down for needle felting. I am now working on making a crow goddess figure. I was too eager to start so I put some undyed wool on my poly fill base and I am now dyeing it black along with a chunk of wool. I am envisioning a goddess like body, a birds head or maybe a human shapped head with a beak, arms attached to wings set on a base of "fog" made with Lincoln longwool. I need to clean more of my lincoln as all the clean stuff has been dyed turquoise. I will have to mix some black in with white and some of the turquoise to get the fog coloring. This is gonna be an adventure...I can just feel it!
For the beak I will wet felt some locks and dye it in some orange koolaid.
For the body I will needle on some soft alpaca or icelandic so it will feel soft to the touch. Maybe even add a green cloak to it to add even more mysterious air.
This is so exciting! The planning stages of something new. AHhhhhhhhh. This will be an ongoing project with everything else I do...spinning, knitting, working,...
In other news....
I have begun my mittens using the formula found here: http://www.knitty.com/issuefall05/FEATmittens101.html
And here is a picture of the icelandic fleece that came in the mail yesterday.
Look at that crimp! There is a lot of sand in this fleece...A LOT. But it comes out and the fleece is a glorious fuffly cloud white when cleaned!
Until next time...
