Completed first section of scrapbook...

Inside Cover and first page And all of a sudden I have scrapbook madness...it's the bug...it's inside me!!! Inside the cover there is a sticker that reads "Dare to dream then watch what happens!" and this so describes how I got to do karate. I dared to dream...and the opportunity showed itself. Quite amazing actually. "Believe in Yourself" was a rub on that looks like it was printed on the page. I have that picture on the first page for a reason. So that if I ever become discouraged, I can always pick up this book and SEE how happy I was and how I feel about learning karate.
Second Page

I have a lot of scrapbooking and stamping supplies from when I used to do both, so I dug out those and set to work. The little red thing is a piece of friendly plastic melted, then stamped with an asian themed stamp. You can't really see the detail here but it kinda looks like an equal armed cross in the plastic. Which is OK.
This will serve as some documentation for WTI. I think it will serve for several subjects in WTI actually as I plan to do this everytime I go up a belt color. I did email karate America and did confirm that indeed the cost to get promoted is an extra$30 in addition to the $99 a month for the tuition.
DAMN!
SUCK-SUCK-SUCK! OWE...gotta hole being burned in my pocket!!
I'm told it pays for the new belt, the promotion cermony, certificate, and card (not sure what kind of card I will be getting...).

Until next time...

Eye Candy- OMG WTF?!

"Woa...WTF was that?! OMG! WTF!!!"

Does that picture not make you bust out laughing in a histarical fit?! If not, check the rear quaters for a long, ruff object sticking quite a ways out and remove it. That stick up your butt prevents you from having fun...don't-cha-know.

Until next time...

Mail Day...money suuuuuuuuuucker

ACK....just when I think things are gonna go really well....SLAP upside the head the universe says!

I got a a letter in the mail today reminding me to pay taxes I thought were already paid off!!! *face palm*
When I tried to call and ask question...all I got was a nasty tax lady who would not let me get a word in edgewise. *CLICK*
I got the polypay fleece I ordered last week! OOOoo so crimpy! I cannot wait to comb some of it up to spin!

I got an envie from mom with a $50 gift card to hobby lobby and a bday card along with the socks I knit that were too small.  I wan't expecting so much money!

I called the survey people who said they were gonna send me $100 for participating in a survey that I have not seen yet...they said they just sent them out because they were waiting for the last couple of people to call and confirm thier winnings.

Then I decided, with all this market crunching happening, I am gonna take my IRA out. I need the money anyhow. Most of it I hope I will be able to put back but I can pay off whatever is left on those god forsaken tax peeps say I STILL owe (just under $200).

Then I am trying to figure a way to pay for my WTI tuition, which is around $500 and I dunno how I am gonna pay for it PLUS my karate tuition.

*faint*

Until next time...

Bodily pains...

What is up with all this pain?! OYE! I had having to take an aleve every day just to control the joint and muscle pain I am experiencing. Today, my left ring finger is aching...and only when I bend it! And my elbow was hurting me last night in about the same way. What is up with this?!
My back is a little achy, but that is expected as I practiced a lot yesterday. Blah!

Today, I plan to order some more photo copies from the walkgreens down the street, walk down to get them and then walk to Red Robin to try thier fish sticks with the GC I got from my last unpleasant visit (I ask for well done burgers, I get nearly raw burgers...every single time). So they sent me $40 worth of Red Robin bucks. Now that they have expanded thier menu choices to more than just burgers, I'll try them again. A friend had the fish stick baskets and she said it was really good. We shall see.

And how to tell your significant other that they have a problem with thier equipment that makes it undesirable to make hot passionate love with them because of it?! It doesn't help that he has not had a sperm count done YET after getting snipped now over a year ago. I think I may just deny any love making until he gets that done so I can get that IUD out of me and my sex-drive can come back. It is causing me problems anyways (cramps, unplanable leakage...blah). Unplanable leakage is not a good thing when your karate uniform is white!!!! How embarrasing!!!

Until the next bodily pain attacks...

Karate Scrapbook!

I made a scrapbook from a cheapie Dollar Store "Scrapbook". I decorated the cover with a printed out clipart and wording. The white thing is a sticker. Martial art stickers are hard to come by! If I need to add more pages the binding will be simple to take apart and put back together. It only has ten pages, but I only plan to fill it up with promotion pictures. I need MORE copies of my white belt pictures. I had some printed for the collage, some printed to show my friends at the WTI meeting and those went into my BOS and now I need more!! LMAO!

Until next time...

I did it! WOOOooo!

Yippie! I totally got the knife hand block DOWN man! WOOOooo! I practiced it for about an hour in the basement while I payed close attention to my hand and body positions. All the while tearing up my feet on the ruff, cement basement floor! ACK! Way to scrap off the dead skin! Next time I will have to wear my moccasins to protect my pads!

I am so proud of myself!

Mom called asking if my Bday package got here yet. She just mailed it a day ago...mail isn't that fast.

And an epsiode of Lime and not Violet! YAY! Lots of goofing off on this episode...so fun when they do that! Snorting barking dogs are soooo funny!!

Off to work!

Until next time...

MMMmmm Oven roasted Portabella

I bought a package of medium portabella caps yesterday at Woodman's. Yesterday I tried cooking them on the stove in some butter. While they came out delicious, what I did today totally beats it.

I roasted four portabella caps with two bulbs of garlic in a foil pouch. I drizzled both olive oil and sesame seed oil on all items, sealed and cooked at 395 for 40 minutes, just until the garlic was good and cooked. MMMmmmm-M! Roasting the caps in this way imparts a light garlic and oil flavor. Sprinkled with some garlic salt...YUMMY!

I found a new love...chocolate covered espresso beans...OOOOOooo blahmadbsdhjkfvsyfvashjrfv....coffee, bean?! Now if I could find some milk chocolate covered ones instead of dark chocolate...that'd be great!! *VBG*

My neck is still sore today, but feeling better. I had a weird dream last night but I cannot remember it completely now. I slept sooooo hard and I feel sooo good today.

I got anther Chris Angel Mind Freak DVD today. This man amazes me! I remembered as I started to watch it a dream I had of him a couple weeks ago. I was having a conversation with him in an antique store. He seems like a sweet person and he reminds me of gypsies. I wander if he has a Gypsy heritage because he sure does seem like a gypsy to me. The defying gravity state of mind, the freaky tricks and illusions....WOW.

I've got to remember to write down in my BOS/journal the moves I learn from karate each class so I can choose which ones would be best to teach my peers at the next WTI meeting in December-basic self defense.

So I think I will concentrate on updating that today and adding my first photos of me in uniform as well.

I finally got the Cherokee Proud book, second addition even. I was looking at more Cherokee books at the library today. And I happened upon a book of Native American Portraits. I could star at those old black and white photos for hours! Something about the glassy look of their dark eyes, their heavily wrinkled skin, and carefully hand sewn clothings and decorations. Amazing.

I want to add another book to my wishlist: Folk Shawls. I tink I like lace knitting!!

Until next time...

EEEEEEEEEeeeee, Secret pal!!!

WEEEEeee, Secret Pal left me a comment and I am very happy to have contact!

OOOOHHHHhhhh my neck, my butt...my whole BODY!

OOOooh that kitten looks like she is resting peacefully. OOOOh this karate is kicking my butt!! I had a muscle in my BUTT I discovered in the last class was there. This time it is my shoulders and neck that hurt....along with my BUTT! LMAO! I also got very winded today as we bounced around with a partner as they decided when to say go (then we would jab-jab-punch at the arm pads our partner was holding), then we would switch feet on demand...and oOOOoo I was wheezing sooooo bad! *faint...like the kitten*
I learned that we go up a belt color at the end of March, to Gold. I don't know if gold and yellow are the same or different.
Today we also learned some blocking skills...that I have to practice as it was a mind boggler! It's kinda like the yahoo avatar pose there on the side. I want to lean forward bot backwards on the knife hand block.

My instructor said something good today.

"Don't try to outdo the person next to you, and don't try to be a black belt when you are still learning. Some people are naturally athletic and pick up on moves right away, while others need more time to get it down pat. Do what you can and practice-practice-practice. Don't try to be a second rate someone else, concentrate on being a first rate YOU."

I liked that. I liked it a lot.
WOO-CHA!!

*very loud snoring*

Test

This is a test. I this had been an actual posting, you would have had something else to read. *VBG*

Email test #2

Bringin down De house-lots of beaching

I was listening to mortal combat and I turned it up so loud that one of the speakers fell off the computer desk...taking my still half full 32 ounce cup filled with coffee with it. The lid came off which surprised me because it's a hard lid to remove!

I found some Oolong tea at Woodman's and bought me a cheap box of it. I hear it helps with acne problems. Anything cheap that will help is worth a try! Tea is good for yeahs anyways.

My BUTT muscles are still sore from karate practice. I did not have the strength to practice yesterday because I was still sore!! But I think I will get a little in this afternoon since I have most of the afternoon off. My routes keep canceling!!! I am gonna be a poor womyn come payday if this keeps up. And SP10 JUST started! ACK-ACK-ACK. I still have to pay my monthly adoption fee for Lotti and start paying for that college theology course. Cripes.

I am trying my darndest to figure a way to ship a 16 x 20 frame college of my karate pictures to my Mum in Indiana. I asked on yahoo answers and one person suggested that I double box it with plenty of packing peanuts. The problem is finding a box big enough without having to dish the money out for it! Can you believe that when I asked Menard's yesterday if they had any large appliance boxes I could take, they told me they "are not allowed to give the boxes away". (!!!!!!!!!!) What flippin kind of bullshit it that?! You can't give away BOXES?!!! Boxes that you are throwing out anyways!? What is this world coming to that stores refuse to give away a simple cardboard box?! Cripes! Starbucks will SAVE the boxes until I get there to pick one out this Friday!! WOW.

I already got one from Starbucks, but it is not quite wide enough for the frame so it is sitting in it diagonally and surrounded by nuts. The Bf said he would keep an eye out for a box that looks like it would be big enough to fit this one in plus a layer of cushioning nuts. Speaking of nuts...those damned things are expensive! I bought one cubic foot (rolls eyes) of peanuts at the UPS store for $4, and it was not nearly enough. I could spend a fortune on those alone!! So I put a call out on our local free-cycle list and I got two trash bags full of packing peanuts for FREE! Yippee! Kudos to that person! Then I bought some bubble wrap at the local Big Lots and a roll of stretch film from Woodman's while I was there because they were on sale. So I really wrapped the frame up to try and ensure delivery in one piece. So far I have spent around $10 to pack this thing...that includes those damned expensive bagged peanuts from the UPS store. Speaking of that store, I don't like the man that works in the one down the street. He is a grouchy son-of-beach. I'm gonna take it to staples or even the UPS store over near East Town to ship it. The man there was really helpful. He quoted me about $24 to pack the frame, and around $10 to ship. I think next time I will just take it there and let them do all this work!!

I think I am gonna look into finding another driving job. I keep hearing a lot of shit about management where I am at. One is that the dispatcher doesn't have the balls to stand up to the operations manager...even to defend a coworker he asked to bring a bus in...and the operations manager was jumping down the drivers throat about. The operations manager is a real ass to begin with. Thinks he is hot-funny stuff...he really ain't and seems more like a idiot to me. I don't talk to him because he will ask a question, and then not give you enough time to answer before he starts talking again. HOW RUDE AND DISSRESPECTFUL! And they are seriously lacking in the training department as well. I really don't want to be represented by the stupid shit other drivers do because I am not like that.

There is no reason for me to stay...no incentive to do a better job. They stink!! I found out that my previous employer got bought out. Damned it. That was the best job I have ever had and it sure didn't last long. Humph! So I am gonna look up FedEx and see how I can get a job in the delivery field. I have always wanted to try that. Full time with benefits, incentives to do better, and yearly raises, would be a plus. I don't get any of that with my current employer.

I think that is all. I have some polypay fleece on the way so I am excited and can't wait to get my hands on that.

Until next time...

Dead Star = White Dwarf

This composite image shows Z Camelopardalis, or Z Cam, a double-star system. The Z Cam system features a collapsed, dead star, called a white dwarf, and its companion star, as well as a ghostly shell around the system. The massive shell provides evidence of lingering material ejected during, and swept up by, a powerful explosion that occurred a few thousand years ago.The image combines data gathered from the far-ultraviolet and near-ultraviolet detectors on NASA's Galaxy Evolution Explorer on Jan. 25, 2004. The orbiting observatory first began imaging Z Cam in 2003.Z Cam is the largest white object in the image, located near the center. Parts of the shell are seen as a wispy, yellowish feature below and to the right of Z Cam, and as two large, whitish, perpendicular lines on the left.Z Cam was one of the first known recurrent dwarf nova, meaning it erupts in a series of small, hiccup-like blasts, unlike classical novae, which undergo a massive explosion.

OOOOooohhh OUCH...I could use a hot shower!

OOOOoooh ouch! My Karate instructor really worked us hard today!!! OYE! We did front punch-back punch-front kick-back kick combos today...and a whole lot of stretching of muscles I didn't know existed! So I kinda feel like that puppy there!

OOOoh I could use some spa treatment right about now...owe...oooOOOOOoooo.....

Anyone know any good Santeria books? Since Yemaya is knocking at the proverbial door, I figure I should look into her African traditions, roots, and practices.

AAAAaaaaaaaa, spaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Long Weekend with WTI; College for Mum

I had a long weekend at the WTI (Wemyns Theological Institute) meeting this weekend. What? You mean to tell me you did not know I was student of theology? Arn't all who research other religions? If you don't care to read about "pagan" related material...you may want to skip to the end to see the other photo which is Karate related.

Well anyhoo...as part of the weekend we were asked to bring a favorite altar item and we found out that we were to create a ritual with them AFTER we drew pieces of paper that had a moon phase, a season, and a theme. We also drew pieces of paper that randomly partnered us up with another womyn of the group. I got Ruth, a wonderfully gentle, sensitive, and loving womyn. We had to come up with a coven name (make-believe at this point), and design a ritual around the themes we drew. We drew a moon phase of waxing, season of summer, with a theme of transformation/transcendence. And we came up with the coven name that I still have a hard to remembering. It was something grove coven. We named it after a tree that sends roots down from it's limbs and it mostly found around the Florida coast. Gosh I wish I could remember! It started with a B!

We did not take this assignment lightly. We were serious. And right away we came up with a theme. Weight loss. When is wieght loss NOT transformative or transcendative? It changes your whole life! So the first picture is of the alter we created. We got lots of nice comments on our ritual (we had to perform it in front of the class as if it were a private coven gathering...with lots of flies on the walls watching...).And oddly enough, during the same weekend we discussed labrynths. Our altar became a labrynth of transformation. The main theme turned into water because that is what we had. I had brought the cunch (sp?) shell for the goddess costume party on Friday evening and had left it there at the place we were meeting at so I ended up being able to use it along with the cowery shell that fell off my Yemaya necklace. The blue ribbon symbolizes a river. Water can be a powerful element. It carved the Grand Canyons. So here it is helping us carve a spiral path to our goal, which we added to the wish cup (my altar item) at the end of the symbolical journey.

We had a lot more time than the other two groups that formed to come up with our ritual so it was more planned out. It also turned out to be very powerful for the both of us as we both have the same goals in mind. I have found that as the months pass, I keep getting phychic flashes. When we were pondering how to set the altar up, the way it ended up is what flashed in my mind in the planning stages. How amazing! I had an invocation (which I learned is different from envocation...go figure!) and it went like this:

"The journey to transformation begins with a spark. A spark of change, a spark of growth, a spark of curiosity, or a spark of determination.

As we continue along the path to transformation there will be trials, there will be doubt. We must remember that Sacred Mother is always near to help us push through the tough times.

Again we will continue upon the path set before us and we will find the drive, will and energy to keep us moving forward.

And as we near our goal, Goddess will always be near to support us with every step we take."

I loved how the ritual came out. We both called in the elements and the Sacred Mother, and we had fun doing it. I didn't like having to do it in front of my peers, but we did it, and we did it with feeling, power, and determination to reach the goals we have set before ourselves. I even got Ruth a thinkin about getting involved with Martial Arts as I have! It's fun!

And that leads me to the next topic, the college. I got a big 8x10 photo of the nice picture of me smiling and gigglin, and made a freeform college. I smudged out my name because well...it's a secret!!! But my name is there for Mum to see. Now...how the hell do I ship this thing?? It's a "floating" picture frame so it's mostly glass. Any suggestions out there?
