A bike!-A Bike! I gotta new bike!!

When you wish for abundance...it comes!

I bought myself a brand spankin new bike from Erik's Bike shop where they guarantee the price is the lowest in town. I am not sure what brand it is but it is sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!

I had to get a helmet too but that is okay. With the way people drive in this town I'll need it!!

I went around the neighborhood twice and I was whipped out! We live in an area with lots of hills so going down them is a load of fun...but coming back home is not so fun...whew!! It's so nice to have a bike for my body type. Pat at the Erik's Bike Shop east side location was super helpful. I was so bashful about trying it out, but he said he would just need my liscense and CC/Debit card to hold while I am out testing it out. I miss having a bike I can enjoy. The walfart bike is trash for me because the seat will not go down as far as I need and then the handle bars will not go up as far as I need. Damned spare tire is always in the way...but I can sit up streight and not bother with it on this bike. I had an inkling to go to that spacific store, and when he showed me this bike I had a very good feeling about it. I have a foot pump somewhere...I just gotta find it! So now I need to tote the old walfart bike to the RCGI motherhouse to donate to them. Maybe I can get some credit from it towards my theology course.

I consider this my Bday present to myself because no one else would buy it for me. I gotta do something for me once in a while yeah know. This will help with my wieght loss too. Come spring break I will be on this thing everyday to get my coffee! I just need to get a lock as the bike lock is being used to keep the storage space locked up as I haven't needed to use it till now. I'll run and get a lock later. Right now it is lunch time! Beer brauts and beer! Boy am I famished!!!

Until next time...

What a friday!!!

OMFG! What a day Friday was! Everyone I ran into either had an attitude or was just plain grumpy and unsocial.

I wanted to visit the local shoe store down Monona Dr but they did not open for another half hour when I got there, so I went next door to Ben Franklin-an old-old-old craft store. Well after ten minutes of not finding anything of interest, because their selection really sucks, I was just diddle-daddling around to waste time. I had two people ask me if they could help me find something and I told them both I was just browsing. WTF is wrong with that anyways?! So after the store manager asked me and I still said NO, there is nothing you can help me find because I am just browsing...the fucking ass-hole started looking after me like I was gonna steal something!! Peeking around the corners, watching my every god-danged move! If I wanted to steal something, I would not have waiting almost 20 minutes to do so!! DAMN! I got fed up with this peculiar behavior real quick and I had a starring contest with the manager at the end of the isle and me at the other end...looking really pissed off. When he yielded and walked off,

I should have confronted him, but instead I went to the front counter and asked the lady:

"Is that your manager back there?"

"Yes"

"You can tell him I will never consider shopping here again because he is watching after me like I am a thief. Others will hear about this treatment of your customers."

She was visibly shocked and didn't have anything to say to that so I left. The shoe store was open, but they did not have what I was looking for because the all weather durable shoes I want are now considered "seasonal" and are only available in the fall. *scratching head*

So I parked in front of Ben Franklin and I glared at them as I bucked up and started the van (the work van mind you). Thanks so much Ben Franklin for totally profiling me!! Ass-wipes!

I encountered the same shit all day! I went to Farm and Fleet and the cashier was anything but friendly. And the cashier over at Menard's was the exact same way! What was going on in the heavens Friday I wonder?!

But then the BF came home, brought home some cake and ice cream and he took me out for sushi. That ended the day on a high note. I was thinking if he didn't do or bring something for the Bday, he would totally not get anything for his next bday. I always get him cake and ice cream for the bday.

My most useful knitting tool...

Is not a knitting tool at all. It's my spinning wheel. I spin most of what I knit these days so it is my most useful tool. I have a closet full of fleece to spin up so I am not a yarn whore...I am a fiber whore!! LMAO!!

I sure could use a yard meter though! That would definately be a useful tool for me. *VBG*

Today is a perfect day for some sun-tea! Sun made Oolong tea...comin up!

Gained 4 pounds?! WHAT?!

*sledge hammer to scales...wonderful smashing sounds ensue*

I got on the scales this morning and my nemesis says I gained four pounds OVERNIGHT!

ARRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!

I did drink a lot of water yesterday to hydrate myself for karate class so now I am wondering how the hell do I gauge weight loss with water gain?! This shit is getting complicated! I tool in less than my "prescribed" amount of calories...a lot less than I had initially thought. There may be some muscle gain in there too as I do feel stronger and I am getting winded less and less easily.

Did I mention that we learned yesterday? I don't think I did. I was in too much pain. I still hurt, but now it is just simple stiffness. Would help if I could get some damned sleep! The BF comes to bed and just fidgets and fidgets and fidgets!!!! I think I am gonna have to start sleeping on the hide-away. I just cannot get enough rest with all the fidgeting that happens in the night!

Anyways...we learned Offensive front kick, and a....jump front kick?? I dunno remember what he called it but we pull the right leg up and chamber it (karate lingo), then jump and switch to the other leg to kick with. We were learning front downward kick when my leg failed me. Then we learned how we could improve our balance by bringing up one leg and....oh shit! De'ja'vu!! I had a dream about this some time ago!! I just remembered it! Holy smokes...anyhoo we balance with one leg up with our hands wrapped around our knee. Well...that is physically impossible for me to wrap my hand around my knee, so I just hold on to the best of my ability.

We got a black stripe on our white belts last night as well. He said they give them every other month for modivation. Sweatness!

Happy B-day to me!! I am now a whole 29 strong! Mom says she will really razz me next year because I will be over the hill. Over the hill?! I don't consider 30 over the hill at all...that's more like 50 isn't it because that is the half-way point? She's wierd like that.

My first karate related injury....

And a day before me b-day to boot? Oye.

Owe-owe-owe...sssssssssssssssss.....owe...

We were doing offensive front kicks and halfway down the line (trying it for the first time)...my right calf POPS. BOOP! Then...PAIN! OOOOh I am gonna hurt big time tommorrow...and it is my driving foot too!

Lesson learned for today: I will not practice at home the same day as class...as that is what I did today and I just didn't have the energy I needed or could have had...which may have prevented the POPPING of muscle tissue...owe.

Hot bath comin up!

Until next time...

How do I feel about the Bottle Swap Flop?

Well...I dunno what to think about this bottle swap from the whenever sock group. I've emailed the "bottle swap mom" twice, and I can only seem to get a response from the moderators when I email the groups owner addy. *very big sigh* I've asked if I should consider myself shit out of luck because the send out date was the 18th. I'm disappointed about not getting an answer...and not getting my fair share in the swap. I sent mine out with plenty of time to spare. Grrrr.

I won't be a member for much longer-if only because of the lack of communication. I keep seeing more and more people posting that they have received their swap. I suppose now that I have posted about it, it will come...isn't that it has worked in the past? Yep.

Well I did one hell of a workout this afternoon. Did the dishes, did some laundry, then practiced my karate with 3 LB wieghts in hand. I got to class tonight so to prepare for that...it's time for a nice hot shower to calm those aching back muscles...owe.

Then I need to make those stitch markers for that kind lady that sent me the inkle loom to send along with her finished object and I need to get that out ASAP!!

My B-DAY is TOMMORROW (3.22)!! I'll be 29 and I'll have my fill of free beer at the Nitty Gritty and work out even harder on Friday to take that off. *VBG*

100 Smartest Diet Tips Ever - Weight Loss on Yahoo! Health

100 Smartest Diet Tips Ever - Weight Loss on Yahoo! Health

Though this was worth bookmarking so I could reference to it again.
My favorite (because I live on a street full of great smellin resturants): Eating out? Halve it, and bag the rest. A typical restaurant entree has 1,000 to 2,000 calories, not even counting the bread, appetizer, beverage, and dessert.

YOUCH! That'll put a dent in the weight loss goal...in the wrong direction! Plus leftovers are always something good to look forward to eating!

And WTH does this mean? : Follow the Chinese saying: "Eat until you are eight-tenths full."
Eight-tenths full? How do I know when I am 8/10's full?!

OOOh and here is the biggie...getting the right veggie intake in.

How Can I Eat More Veggies?

26. Have a V8 or tomato juice instead of a Diet Coke at 3 pm. (I've started getting a can for my breakfast between my routes in the mid-morning hours)

27. Doctor your veggies to make them delicious: Dribble maple syrup over carrots, and sprinkle chopped nuts on green beans. (What an idea!!)

28. Mix three different cans of beans and some diet Italian dressing. Eat this three-bean salad all week. (Beans-beans the magical fruit, the more you eat...)

29. Don't forget that vegetable soup counts as a vegetable. (oooooOOOh goodie....)

30. Rediscover the sweet potato.

31. Use prebagged baby spinach everywhere: as "lettuce" in sandwiches, heated in soups, wilted in hot pasta, and added to salads. (I love spinach!)

32. Spend the extra few dollars to buy vegetables that are already washed and cut up. (WHY??? What a waste of money!! Good grief.)

33. Really hate veggies? Relax. If you love fruits, eat plenty of them; they are just as healthy (especially colorful ones such as oranges, mangoes, and melons). (MMMMmmmm...melon)

34. Keep seven bags of your favorite frozen vegetables on hand. Mix any combination, microwave, and top with your favorite low-fat dressing. Enjoy 3 to 4 cups a day. Makes a great quick dinner. (what an idea!!!)

Breathing Exercises

A very good article on learning how to breath more efficiantly, and how to wake yourself up when you need a pick-me up rather than reaching for a caffinated drink. But I love my coffee, I won't stop drinking it any time soon!!

Teaspoon Slide Guitar-The Remix

LMAO!!! Rock on!!

Teaspoon Slide Guitar Master-a Interlude

And now for an interlude from life...
While surfing You tube to get a sense of what a promotion ceremony is like (and what I might expect)...I came across this! Nice danty tune there!

Spring!!

Happy Spring! Today looks like spring, but we have a cold northern breeze bringing cold air down from Canada. Brrrr...but the sun is shinning big time!

I got an email from the SP10 hostess saying that it is required (????) to post 4 times post 1 TO 4 times during the month with knitting content. -I misread the email!!-

Well, posting 4 times a month will not be a problem (!!!!) but knitting content may be an issue as I have strayed from the crafts as I concentrate on my wieght loss vary. LMAO! When the days get longer, and the days get warmer, I turn into the outdoors person I love being. I love being outside, walking, sitting, thinking. My crafts take the back seat for a while. So if you will forgive me, no crafting contect for the moment unless you count my effort to sculpt myself a healthier, lighter, karate-choppin me. :)

I have some movies coming today (if the mailman ever arrives as he is late today) and I will get some knittin time in then. I will work on the ribbon shawl I am knitting for my Mum. OOOO there! Knittin content!!! It is a good three to four feet long now.

More self-defense and Promotions...*WIMPER!!*

We learned a few more self defense moves today, although I have no idea how I am supposed to practice them when the BF *looks over and rolls eyes* is a whimp when it comes to helping me with this.

Next Friday is promotions and I will be getting my gold belt for an extra $30 bucks. Suppose I will pay that at the next class. I am very nervous about it because I am not sure if we are all showing what we know together as a class...or individually in front of the rest of the class. *whimper!!*

We learned a few more moves but I think we are having more emphasis on practicing what we know for the promotion day. *whimper*

I didn't work nearly as hard but DAMN! Am I still worn out!

Obituary of the late Mr. Common Sense

Obituary of the late Mr. Common Sense

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:

Knowing when to come in out of the rain; Why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't always fair; and Maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6 -year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer Calpol, sun lotion or a band-aid to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 3 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, Someone Else Is To Blame, and I'm A Victim.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

Redo!

We went to the Scrapbook superstore this afternoon and I found the black mulberry paper I was looking for. It has gold inclusions but that is fine I guess. I found some more inspirational stickers and made an addition to page two. Then the BF spoted a Karate rub on!! So I removed the print out of the work karate and placed this one on the same kind of paper, then added pop-dots to the back. WOW! What a difference!

While we were there at the super store, the BF dragged me to the checkout because I was taking too long. The place is HUGE!!! The lady in front of us...before a 15% discount had wracked up $246 in scrapbooking supplies!! HOLY SHIT! The stuff they sell is no where near cheap and you pay premium prices for it all. I found a bunch of half off papers and do-dads so I only wracked up just over $10. Thier frequent shopper program has changed too. When we I was into scrapbooking many-many moons ago (like 5 or so years ago), the program was buy $250 in murchandise and get 15% off. NOW, however...it is $600 get 5% off, up to $2000 get 10% off, over $3000 get 15%. HOLY WTF! I would never spend that much on scrapbooking supplies IN A YEARS TIME!! They have a great selection and all...but that "rewards" program is a ripoff!! And that is my humble opinion on that! HUMPH!

Yesterday I was watching Chris Angels Mind Freak disc 2, and the on the last episode the man wants to know what it feels like to get struck by lightening (WHAT?!) and then he apparently came to Baraboo Wisconsin to the US's largest tesla coil which puts out a max of 3 million volts. When he got to the point where he asked them to turn it all the way up, the noise was so unnerving that I had a full blown panic attack! I have never experienced anything like it before. I was hyperventalating while my throat felt like it was closing up on me! I laughed at myself because it was just TV...but here I am having a panic attack like my own life was in danger! LMAO! I get tense when a storm approaches anymore sense being shocked by the bolt that hit our apartment building last summer during on of the freakiest lightening storms I had ever experienced. I used to be in awe of lightening and thought it beautiful, while I am scared shitless of it now...I still think it is beautiful.
