I love SG Atlantis!

I so love Star Gate Atlantis and I wish they would get thier butts on the ball and get more episodes out! NAHHHH!

I especially have a soft spot for these two character, Lt. Col. John Sheppard and Dr. Carson Beckett. I think I have a soft spot for strong well spoken men with a soft side! *melting!!* Not to mention Sheppard is mighty damned handsome and Beckett is damned handsome AND charming in his Scottish accident speach. *MELTING!!!!* Or I should say, the actors who play these charaters. I stay up every Saterday night JUST to get my SGA fix in! As an added bonus, I get to see SG1 as well and CSI Miami is on earlier in the evening. It's a favorite shows extraviganza!

Insane!!!!

When times get ruff...HA!

First trail ride of the season!

Whew! What a bike ride! It was a perfect day for it too! Not cold but not hot either.

I went out this afternoon at about 1PM to ride the trials and I got home around 4:30. I took the Capital bike trial all around the Capital...a good 15 mile ride. I know because the nifty bike computer keeps track for me! I did stop a few places along the way including Zoom Cafe which is a locally grown, fair trade, organic coffee house that is also bicyclist friendly! They had a huge container full of chilled, filtered water JUST for the bicyclists who stop by! Sweetness! So I bought a coffee to help support them as well. On the way home I stopped at McD's for some fuel (a yogurt parfait and a double fish sandwich) then slowly made my way home. I ran out of steam!!

I got a lot of sun exposure and I am pooped so I think I will go take a nap before I try to do anything else. WHEW!

I found Alpaca camping in my garden...

Alpaca yarn that is and I kind a placed it there. *snicker-snort*
Two pictures in one. My spinach is growing loverly and I dyed this freshly spun two ply alpaca laceweight yarn for this month's project spectrum's challenge. Yellow, green and pink...a triad. The pink came out more red...oh well. Not really something I would pick in color combinations, but at least I got to experience it. Kinda reminds me of cotton candy actually.
The purple birds nest is some purple died alpaca HAND BLENDED with burgandy dyed silk caps. I like the sploches of burgandy here and there from the un-uniform silk roving.

Next is the soap cosy I knit out of a one ply thick and thin yarn that was one of the first I spin up. Nice! Eventually it will felt up and when the soap is gone, I will make a special charm pouch out of the felted material. Nifty Aye?!

And the last picture is of my precious Dwarf Lilac bush. It is absolutely FILLED with leaves this year! I am so happy it bounced back from last year. Last year I kept it inside over winter because I feared the roots would dye if they froze. I guess not. There are only a few flower clusters, but that is enough for me because the anticipation of the upcoming frangrance explosion is driving me mad!! I love lilac!!

WOW Warm weather!!

Wow is the weather warm out there! Eighty-four degrees warm!!

The lady selling me the louet s10 sent me a picture today. It does look old, but it looks in good shape. Hopefully I will have me a new wheel before work ends for the summer and I go on unemployment.

Not much to report other than some monger is still trying to provoke me. *shrugs* You'd think they would have better things to do with thier valuable time left on this plane of existance. I sure do, and that is karate...which I must go and get ready for.

Ch-ch-changes!

We did it. We ordered cable internet through Charter. So those who know me and email me through my tds.net emails will be getting emailed from the new domain. Heads up to look for me in your spam filters! I think the usernames will be the same, just the extentions will change to charter.com. My old emails will be active until the middle of June so there is no rush about it. We are still lock into contract till then and I will never again agree to contract deals. BLECK! Because when a better offer rolls around, there is no way to take advantage of it because if I cancel early they want to chartge yeah $200. OUCH. TDS is kinda iffy anyhoo. My coworker is always having issues with them.

Over the weekend I knitted a soap cozy for the No Bite Me soap. I used some yarn that has been sitting for about a year from when I first started spinning on a wheel. It is a chunky-thin kind of yarn that was hard to knit with, but it should felt up real nice.

I have also been spinning up alpaca. I worked on cleaning a bunch of it up so I could spin it. Alpaca is one that I spin directly from the combs as it tends to go POOF when it is pulled into a roving, and when carded, it tends to have lots of nips in it. Combing takes out the nips (basically second cuts that get rolled into a lint ball) and leaves the longer fibers sticking out for spinnin.

I found some really cool (litterally) yarn at the LYS: Off the Beaten Path that is made from cotton and ceramic. You read it right...ceramic. Apparently it keeps the yarn cool to the touch and helps one stay cool in hotter weather. I so want to knit a snood out of that!! It is lightweight AND will keep my neck cool!

The lady from Illinois who was offering me her Louet seems to have dissapeared when I asked her if she was willing to pack and ship. HUmmm, a simple no would have been polite enough...is that expecting too much from Illionois? I'm not gonna come and hunt your ass down if you say no. But, surprisingly enough, another offer has taken that ones place and with someone who is willing to ship! Same price to boot! Amazing!!! I guess the other one was not ment to be. *shrugs* Oh well.

The Weather Man LIED.

Okay, imagine if you will...waiting for the one day the weather man said it would be near EIGHTY degrees and pleasant with plenty of sun. That was supposed to be today, Sunday. I watched the weather report with anticipation all week, then I saw it again last night and it was all completely wrong! NO NO NO, you said very warm with plenty of sun...bring it! You said it! Now you have to bring it!

*sigh*

Needless to say I am very dissapointed in the weather man. Not only did the weather they predict not happen the way they said it would, but it is cold, very windy, and not very sunny. I could just kick someone. LMAO SO that picture over there demonstrates how I feel about it.

So now the nice weather has been somehow delayed and will not arrive till tomorrow, Monday, a workday...bite me weather man!

Until next time...
