Blogathon! I am bloggin for a reason!

Not only am I a sponser for a friends blog, but now I will be blogging as well! I am blogging for the Raptor Education Group, INC (REGI) a local Wisconsin non-profit wild bird rescue and rehabilitation center. They run totally off of donations and get no federal assistance what-so-ever. The help my injured, and/or sick feathered friends get better so they can be released back to the wild. The woman who runs the place is known as the "Bird Whisperer" as she has a calming touch to any bird she encounters. She is truely amazing. Those who are unable to be released are sheltered and cared for for the rest of their natural lives.
I am having a bit of a contest with this...the person giving the largest donation sum will receive advertising space on my blog (right up top where everyone can see it!) AND in my email siggy line (down there where Susan's ad is at). So business owners...get those donations goin!! If you do not own a business, I will promote the business of your choice or we can work something else out (like free fiber goodies). The second and third largest donations will get something special from me. :)
Until next time...

Yarn Harlot: Just keep your mouth shut
You have to go and read this entry on the Yarn Harlot blog about a rape victom who is being unjustly descrimated against by the judge of the rape trial who deemed it necessary to ban the words Rape, Sexual Assault, Victim, Attacker, Assailant, Forced in a RAPE trial! The jurors were not notified of this ban. This is an insult to women everywhere and is clearly sexual discrimination from a judge that is supposed to be unbiased! He cannot be allowed to do this. They cannot even call it a rape trial and is instead a trial of "sex"! Sex implied consensual, rape is not consensual! I am outraged!
Here is a link to a CBC radio show that interviews the rape victim Tory Bowen:http://www.cbc.ca/radioshows/AS_IT_HAPPENS/20070622.shtml
Email your senetors and notify them of this farce and help prevent such bullshit from happening to another rape victom in the USA. I have. This judge cannot be allowed to continue to descrimate against women!!

It's a stay home sorta day...
I am staying home this weekend. I have lots of new fiber to clean and I want to get the rest of the yarn spun up for Mum's Wing of the Moth Shawlette. I saw a super cool pattern for a shawl in the Fall issue of Creative Knitting, of which I bought JUST for that pattern at the LYS down the street. I also bought three Cherry Tree Hill patterns that were on half-off that I had been wanting for the longest time. I bought Swing Coat , Sugah Set (I wanted the caplet pattern), and Autumn Grace stole. For some reason the last two are not listed on the Cherry Tree Hill website. *shrugs* Normally $5 each I bought three of them for $7.50, Yippie!!
I am nursing some sort of cold I got yesterday when I did a stupid thing. I took a puff of the inhaler I have (OTC because I cannot afford prescription inhalers) and went out right after to bike down to the LYS. I got sharp upper chest pains and my esophagus burned! That was not pleasant for every time I breathed in the burning intensified! Had I known this would happen I would have not taken the inhaler just before leaving! Apparently, I need to wait ten minutes for the inhaler to take effect before I begin any intense exercise. Who'd a thunk?! As a result of this, I developed a cough and fluid has settled into my lungs. Overnight, it moved up into my head so now my sinuses are filled up and I have a slight bubbly cough. *sigh* Wonderful. I am taking Zicam to alleviate the symptoms but I HATE the taste of it and leaves a nasty film in my mouth and upsets my stomach. NASTY stuff, but it works! I take an inhaler before I exercise because that is when my lungs tighten up but I had no idea I needed give it time to settle in and work before I workout!
I knit up another demo for the LYS and it knit up quickly. It was a simple pattern for a small felted baggie.
That same LYS propositioned me to work on Saturdays twice a month! The only problem I have with working there is the dress code. I cannot wear jeans, sorts, or T-shirts and that just about sums up my wardrobe and I am not a dress wearing gal!! So we decided to wait a couple weeks till I could buy some better work clothes. I have worked in a casual work environment for so long that I stopped buying fancier clothes long ago. Now since I have lost weight I need to buy smaller clothes anyways as I have dropped a size!! Hurray!! All my 2X T's just hang off me and are not that comfortable that way. I have a few 1X's to wear, but not many. My shorts are so much looser and I am enjoying that! I won't need new shorts or jeans until they start to fall off my ass-I think that is a long ways down the road, but that day is coming and I am so looking forward to getting smaller pants!! At the moment I wear 24's which are a bit bigger than I need because I don't like tight fitting pants. I think I could go down to 22's if I really wanted, but I think they would be a tad too tight yet.
I am really dissapointed in the Llama fleeces I purchased off ebay. Even though the listing says they were profesionally sheered, I am finding that hard to believe because of the amount of second cuts! One fleece had bits of hoof and I wonder about the health of the animal it came from. One was just riddled with guard hairs that I spend a good amound of time Thursday plucking. I haven't touched the third one yet as I am too busy with other, better, fleeces. I bought 2 pounds of raw Targee (OMG what a wonderful fiber!!! SOooooo soft, compairable to Merino!) and 2 pounds of raw uncoated Merino. I am washing them both today. I am having trouble carding the Merino as it keeps coming out with lots of nibs for some reason. Must be the finess of the wool. I'll use it anyways as I don't think the nubs will be all that noticable in a worsted yarn.

Prayer Shawls: to create or not to create...
I never really took a good look at this site before today and I have no idea why. I was a member of the yahoo group for a time, but they never said much if anything so I left. I love the page with all the prayers on it, prayers from all types of belief systems, even one to the Goddess and I really appreciate that they have not discriminated against other systems of prayer.
A blog I read a lot, Caffinna's Creations, is telling of her hardships in dealing with the discovering she has cancer but one of the most common forms of endometrial cancer which is 100% treatable with a very high recovery rate. Regardless, she is having difficulty sleeping at night and dealing with the normal everyday functions. I can understand why. If those readers here would visit her blog, and just leave some words of encouragement on her most recent posts, I am sure this will help her immensely.
I seem to feel her anxiety as I read her entries and I dunno why I have this connection but I strongly suggested that she knit herself a prayer shawl for the recovery months ahead. I do believe it will be an immense tool of healing and comfort when the time of healing comes for her. But, the more I read of those Prayer shawl pages, the more I have an urge to knit one specifically for her. I don't know her personally, only through a couple of groups. I have no way of knowing if she likes me or not...considering the vicious lies that have circulated about my method of dealing with the flakers and haters in the last swap I hosted. My it return three fold upon them. SO mote it be. But this post is not about them as they have no power over me but she was in that swap I think also. I remember seeing some nasty comments from her somewhere. But I am compelled to forgive and forget in a time of emotional turmoil such as this. No one deserves to suffer in this way and why it is that some of us are chosen to suffer through this type of illness is unknown, but I believe what does not kill us, inevitably makes us stronger in so many ways, even spiritually.
So now I ponder...should I start one for her...or not? Should I ask her first? Yeah, I think I should ask her first because if she is unaccepting of the gift, then I will have wasted my power, time, and materials to create a tool of healing for someone who many not accept it.
Until next time...

New feature: Cbox!!
New feature added to replace meebo. Cbox. It is a dynamic chat box service. You can register your chat username or choose to enter it each time you visit. Spammers and mean people will be blocked of course, a wonderful premuim feature. Meebo needs a window open to work, and they have no stand alone feature so this will work better for communication efforts. I also have messages emailed to me on a daily basis, so even if no one replies right away, I will get the message and come back to comment if necessary. Cbox is in the panel where the Meebo used to be (Chatter Box panel on the right side-down just a bit). Enjoy and play nice!!

Tiny Toad
I have found it ironic to find this little guy because just the other day we found our resident wild, adult toad dead with no outward signs of trama. S/he left us with a gift and we have been blessed with Toad babay's!

I present, the "official" rating of this here blog...
Due to the presence of the words shit (3x) and ass (1x)
Eh, not bad. Life ain't all pansies and PG ratings. My only issue with this is that these stupid flucks (HA! Fooled the rating machine!!!) think no one knows how to edit HTML to remove the goddess-forsaken, stupid, dating link attached to the graphic. Think yer gonna be sneaky with me aye? NOT!! I don't promote online stalking...I mean "dating". What a joke!

You can see the sheer volume of my stash next to my Louet S51 sitting right there! Yikes...where am I gonna stash all this! *faint* I need more Giant Ziplock bags!! Of which they have switched to the double-sipper on all of those storage bags and I like them a lot better. They are super easier to close than when they first came out (of which I still use).
We need rain. I am gonna do some drum magic and drum us up some rain. We need it badly.

WOW what a mail day!!
I ordered some blended glitz from legacystudios on ebay and that arrived today in the form of Fire and Tropical glitz...OOOoo droool!
Then I won a price from the Needle Felting forums online and I got that today. A Beary Best Friend needle felting kit from www.bluegooseglen.com. I cannot wait to tear into that one! LMAO!
Then I got some special poly envies today so that I have something light and cheap to send orders in through my etsy shop. Sold some Shetland batts but the mohair is not moving. *scratching forhead* I thought mohair was a popular fiber item? Oh well. Win some loose some and I definately lost on the mohair after finding out I am allergic to it-the hard way.
I have 11 pounds of lucious llama fleece on the way to me from Northern Wisconsin. A fiber dealer up Nort was selling a bunch on ebay and I got one lot of 5 1/2 pounds of light brown llama fleece for $3 (without shipping)!! Holy smokes! I went on a fleece binge. I bought two more smaller lots and ended up spending $32 for the 11 pounds with the shipping. What a steal!!! Shipping to within the same state is pretty damned reasonable and a lot cheaper than going to pick it up with gas being so high. Who would have thunk that I would prefer it to be shipped rather than just pickin it up? Totally backwards.
Today I won an auction for 2 pounds of Targee fleece (skirted) and that seller is even closer to me than the first!! And as we chatted back and forth through email after I had asked a question about the auction, found out that she also has lots more different fleeces for $5 a pound. SO I tacked on 2 pound of skirted Merino. OOOh I am so bad. Awayith Da'Bill!!! I am being bad!!!
So since I have all my goodies for making the third part of the carding tutorial, I am working away at that.
Saterday I got a postcard in the mail from Karate America with encouraging words.
Until next time...

Create A Goddess Contest-My Entry
Here is a sneak peak to whom I have created! You may pass on, or use, as you wish so long as credit is given where credit is due. :)
Goddess Awayith Da'Bill - Divine Counselor to Those Entrapped in Debt
She helps motivate us to take action and pay off the debt accumulated by living in modern times and in doing so helps us create prosperity, financial freedom, and peace of mind for the future.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Her colors are green, blue, and silver. Imagine her in a free flowing dress of these colors, wearing a necklace of Jade, Pearl and Silver. Her hair is sky blue and her eyes are of the richest green imaginable.
She confides to the Cranes and Blue-Jays who bring her blessings to our eyes and ears. Near the Ocean, she sings in harmony with the Humpback Whales.
Her magical gardens are full of Thyme, Burdock, and Catnip from the Plant Nation that are the herbs that can aid us in matters of money and prosperity.
She has petitioned the aid of the Stone Nation and they have provided money drawing stones of which a few are Tigers-Eye, Jade, Pyrite, Opal, Lodestone and Peridot. Even the Oysters of the Oceans Blue have offered their powers, brought to Her by the Singing Whales, in the form of Pearls. Do thank the Oysters for their sacrifice in providing such a valuable gift if you choose to use them.
She enjoys all symbols of prosperity, balance, and currency from every culture and every society.
Create an altar with any of these materials and symbols then invoke Awayith Da'Bill into that sacred space, using this or an invocation of your own:
Awayith Da'Bill! Awayith Da'Bill!
I call unto you for your help!
Come and stay awhile in my home,
here at this altar I have created for you,
and give me courage and strength to overcome these bills
that have entrapped me in a paralizing debt.
I've spent too much.
I've lost control.
Support me through braking this bad debt spell!
From me this debt has been born,
Through me this debt shall pass.
As I will it, so it is to be!
Confide to Her in this sacred space you have created when you need support and strength to carry out this mission. Seek her out in your heart when you feel weak, and are tempted to spend that hard earned money on something new, knowing it should go toward things or services already purchased. Carry a symbol of Her with you if you do not feel strong enough when out and about, or cannot trust yourself not to spend the money deemed for the bills. It will not be easy, but with the Divine help of Awith Da'Bill, you will be set free from the entrapping debt.
Place receipts of payments to the debt(s) at Her altar as thanks for Her motivation and your ability to pay what needs to be paid. Place spare change around her or in a cup as a token of prayer and thanks. At the end of each year, donate those coins to a good cause. She will bless you fondly when these donations are sent to those organizations who support and fight for the lives and homes of the creatures of the Mother Earth.
When your debt has been paid off and Awayith Da'Bills' services of encouragement and freedom of debt are no longer needed, disassemble the altar built for Her, send any leftover coin donations to a charity of choice, and use the receipts to get a fire going for a ritual of thanks and celebration. Dance around the fire and sing praises for you are now free from [a] debt!! To help you keep this new found freedom, call upon Goddess Spendi O'Smart or Goddess Saves A'lot who will help you keep your financial freedom in check.
Simple Money Drawing Ritual
Take some sea salt (table salt will do in a pinch-it's the intent that makes it work) and on your chosen surface, draw a pentagram in salt.
In the center place a green candle, either alone or on top of a mock or old bill with "Paid in Full" written boldly across it in, the center of the pentagram. You may choose to anoint your candle with an oil that attracts money such as Ceder, Sage, Jasmine, Patchouli or Peppermint to name a few or mix a few of these to make your own money oil to your liking.
Take five money drawing stones (all the same or each different) and place one at each of the pentagrams points as you speak (or think) "I place this stone to draw money to me. Awayith Da'Bill I ask your help in keeping me on course to pay off this [these] bill[s]."
Stay in front of the candle as it burns, starring into the flame and visualize paying the bills on time-every time, not missing a payment, and finally rejoicing in the bill(s) paid in full status with the money you are asking the Universe to send to you (with harm towards none of course) for thirteen minutes.
Repeat this ritual once a day for the next 7 days and when all is said and done, place the salt, stones and any remaining candle or candle drippings along with the bill (if you chose to use one) onto a square of green cloth. Bring up the four corners and tie closed with green cording. Carry the bundle with you where ever you go to continue to attract money and to remind you of your duty to pay off the debt that hinders your financial freedom. Once the bill(s) are paid for, give the salt back to the Earth by throwing into water or rinsing down the sink, recycle the candle remnants, and clear the stones by whatever method you use most. Place this amulet on Awayith Da'Bill's altar when or if you are unable to carry it with you.
Simple New Moon Money Drawing Spell
On the night of the new moon take one of your checks [or create a mock check] and fill in your name in the "Pay To" field. DO NOT WRITE IN A DATE on the date field. With the intent having enough for what you need in life and still paying off those pesky debt bills, write "paid in full" in both the money box and the line provided to write out the dollar amount. Sign the check "The Law of Abundance". Place the check in a safe place and repeat on each new moon. On New Years Eve, collect your checks and burn them in a ritual of thanks and celebration. Continue to do this for as long as you need the extra money to pay off those pesky debt bills. For added benefit, anoint the check with a money drawing oil or add it to the pouch mentioned above. Still another idea would be to create a special green pouch just for these checks.
Wishing Pearl Spell
Find and purchase the cheapest pearl available. Attune to the pearl and thank the Spirit of the Oyster that the pearl came from for it's sacrifice in providing you with such a beautiful and powerful magical tool. This is best performed at the time of a New Moon, but any time will do in a pinch. Hold the pearl in your hand and visualize money coming into your life and see yourself using it wisely. Still holding this visualization in your mind throw the pearl into moving water...a stream, river or the ocean. As the pearl makes contact with the water element once more, it will set to work to bring your wish to manifestation. Go back to the spot where you threw the pearl into the water monthly at about the time of the New Moon and mentally "feed" your wish pearl by continuing the visualization of money coming into your life and you spending it wisely. Sit and meditate on this visualization for at least thirteen minutes, more if you have the time. Bring some patchouli or cedar incense with you to aid in manifesting the goal. Remember to always leave nature as you found it, what you bring in-take out with you (except the pearl of course!).
Until next time...
