Once upon a time, there were two friends learning to quilt. One had the stupendous idea of swapping blocks, one a month, for an entire year so that one would essentially make a quilt for the other. .
One block at a time.
This, is the chronicle of that journey from July 2013 to July 2014 and it's quilted results.

The Quilt
This part might take a while.

This quilt will never be put together because the person I swapped with is no longer a friend. While the blocks I sent to her were made into a beautiful quilt, it was sent back to me as a sign of the end of our friendship. Maybe for the best since all we did was whine to each other about our lives, our bodies, and our financial situation. We were so excited to finally see one another again, and then by the end, it was decided by the other party we could not be friends anymore. Maybe next time, say you don't agree with smoking or other mind altering substances while in your home. Instead of saying you don't care and then exploding later on when it causes...issues. It would have been nice if we could have just had a discussion about it as my intentions were not what she implied they were. No one truely understands where I come from, and when I see an injustice that I experienced in my childhood, I just can't stand idly by and let it happen without bringing it to the attention of the person being dumb and ignorant (while also high and drunk and acting inappropriately...in front of minor).
ReplyDeleteLife is funny. I was all worried about trying to make amends when amends was not wanted nor desired. Less stress for me, that's for sure. So thanks for that. No more walking on eggshells.
