The Secret

I just finished watching the secret and as always these types of films, that deal with quatum physics and metaphysics, amaze and intrige me. They say the universe is based on a law of attraction, that like attracts like, and that we attract what we have...or don't have, in our lives. It's very interesting because when I started to think about I have optained several items I had been wishing for for the longest time. I had visualized a drum carder for six months, and then I was able to work something out with the LFS so that I could take one home. I wanted a new spinnging wheel for about a period of 3 months and I was able to get it. I have been wanting a new bike for YEARS and was able to get it this year. This year has been very fruitful!

SO in an effort to improve the relationship with the BF whom I feel does not pay me enough attention, I shall pay attention to myself by telling myself each time I go to the bathroom that I am beautiful, I am glowing with radiance, I deserve all the goodness the universe has to offer to the my mirror image. Let's see how things progress in the coming months.

I also need a way to pay of the 'ol CC which is not so much that it would be impossible to pay off, but it is dragged out. I wish for the money to pay that off. I wish it, I will VISUALIZE the bill balance being $0...and we shall see what happens in the coming months ahead. I am excited about this, and I believe I can make the change I WANT (vs what I don't). I believe I deserve all the prosparity the universe has to offer. I believe I will HAVE the prosparity the universe is gonna give me. I believe. To faciliate this, I will list the things that I am grateful for in order to attract more good things into my life. Let's see what happens!

I have not been sleeping well so I will vizualize sleeping well, dreaming of adventures from another lifetime, and waking up refreshed and rearing to go. Let's see what happens!

I am greatful to live in an apartment with an outdoor growing space, next to a wooded area, in a quiet neighboorhood with all I need around me (grocery, deli, post office, dinning, vehicle repair facilities, etc).

I am greatful to have my health.

I am greatful to have and to conitinue to do the hobbies I love.

I am greatful to have a bicycle.

I am greatful to have the job I have that allows me free time in the warm months.

I am greatful to have a job at the Off the Beaten Path.

I am greatful to know the friendly and nice people I do, both online and off.

I am greatful to have someone who says they love me, to hold me, to help me with living costs.

I am greatful for all I have.

I am greatful to be able to learn and create whatever sparks my interest.

I am greatful to me a Goddess Womyn.

I am greatful for my life and the way I believe.

I am greatful for my psychic skills and closeness to nature.

Let's see what happens!

Until next time...

Blogathong Post #21 Founding a Prayer Shawl group?

I have been pondering starting a Prayer Shawl group in my area...but I am not sure how many people would really be interested. Considering my past experiences with the pagan "community" I am not sure there would be enough people dedicated enough for this project...considering how much they bicker among themselves over every stupid thing in a never ending power and intellectual struggles.

I ran into an old RCGI acquaintance and she has started her own ministry (pagan) called the Tigers Eye Temple. I looked at the website and it seems a lot like the ministry she left and said she was unhappy with. Some people are not satisfied unless they are running the show. Although they have a lot more "general interest" activities on a daily basis (Witchery Stitchery is a craft night, poetry night, coffee outings...just all out normal stuff). Which is cool and all. What I don't get is that they meet on SUNDAYS. Why Sundays? Is Sunday the day when everyone has the time to be spiritual among others? Well anyways, she said it is about solitaries coming together when they feel the need to connect with other solitaries and that I am welcome when I feed the need to connect to others myself. I told her about the fallout between "the one who I shall not name here for it would taint my blog with her shite" and she said she knew something had happened but not sure of what exactly. I was surprised because I expected "the one who I shall not name here for it would taint my blog with her shite" to blabber about it to everyone. Apparently not so. "The one who I shall not name here for it would taint my blog with her shite" dropped out from a so called "unity project" (the same project where there is a constant power struggle and intellect struggle between it's members...of which there are now 5 left of the about 100 that were paid members when *I* left it two years ago-and it is run now by the one I dispise the most...a PIG of a man who thinks everyone should bow at his feet. SMACKDOWN!) that she had been adamant about for a long time which surprised me. I basically started to want to do things I wanted to do and she threw a hissy fit and it pissed me the hell off. I basically decided I was not gonna kiss ass with her anymore just to have her friendship and I tell you what...life got better afterwards without having to always run around with her or for her. Good goddess the woman was all over the place and she wore me out. No more however. No more.

Prayer Shawls: to create or not to create...

Prayer Shawl Instructions

I never really took a good look at this site before today and I have no idea why. I was a member of the yahoo group for a time, but they never said much if anything so I left. I love the page with all the prayers on it, prayers from all types of belief systems, even one to the Goddess and I really appreciate that they have not discriminated against other systems of prayer.

A blog I read a lot, Caffinna's Creations, is telling of her hardships in dealing with the discovering she has cancer but one of the most common forms of endometrial cancer which is 100% treatable with a very high recovery rate. Regardless, she is having difficulty sleeping at night and dealing with the normal everyday functions. I can understand why. If those readers here would visit her blog, and just leave some words of encouragement on her most recent posts, I am sure this will help her immensely.

I seem to feel her anxiety as I read her entries and I dunno why I have this connection but I strongly suggested that she knit herself a prayer shawl for the recovery months ahead. I do believe it will be an immense tool of healing and comfort when the time of healing comes for her. But, the more I read of those Prayer shawl pages, the more I have an urge to knit one specifically for her. I don't know her personally, only through a couple of groups. I have no way of knowing if she likes me or not...considering the vicious lies that have circulated about my method of dealing with the flakers and haters in the last swap I hosted. My it return three fold upon them. SO mote it be. But this post is not about them as they have no power over me but she was in that swap I think also. I remember seeing some nasty comments from her somewhere. But I am compelled to forgive and forget in a time of emotional turmoil such as this. No one deserves to suffer in this way and why it is that some of us are chosen to suffer through this type of illness is unknown, but I believe what does not kill us, inevitably makes us stronger in so many ways, even spiritually.

So now I ponder...should I start one for her...or not? Should I ask her first? Yeah, I think I should ask her first because if she is unaccepting of the gift, then I will have wasted my power, time, and materials to create a tool of healing for someone who many not accept it.

Until next time...

Ponderings of Wintery Months ahead

Now that we are over the hump of Summer Soltice (of which I did nothing special...I'm a bad witch, I am) it was a colder day today. Barely making it up into the 70's. Makes me kinda broody for wintery cold.

Several things I am gonna make in the commin months in prep for the cold.

Last winter was really cold and the hat I knit last year from my first spun yarn really didn't fit correctly...although it was superly warm. The yarn was overspun, tight, and a tad scratchy and it kept wanting to pop off my head kinda like a dandilion flower pops off if you thumb it just right. BWEEeee-plop! When I got my bike Spring 2007, the weather was on/off cold, and I could have used a nice warm scarf. I am actually thinking of knitting a double-wide thrummed scarf, then stitching the sides and ends together to enclose the thrums. That sounds cozier than cozy! Would make a damned warm blankie too! Another thing to add to the list of "Someday" knits. I bet Mum would love it I could only find a wool that she can tolerate. Note to self, get that damned Wing of the Moth scarf made out of the shetland for her to test on her skin!!!

I haven't knit in a while, but since I started dyeing and spinning more, now I am itchin to knit some. The cure for the knittin blah-blah's? Dyeing and spinning!

Until next time...

UUuuggggaaaah...

I just am so sleepy and zapped of energy today, and I think it may be those new Omega plus eggs I have been eating that is not agreeing with me. I had some yesterday, the day before and today and each day I have them it seems I end up with an upset stomach and oodles of cha-cha-cha...and we will leave that description at that! Most peeps will know what I am referring to.

I think I am gonna have to either throw them out or use them in baking only. BLAH...what a waste of money. I don't have any energy to practice my karate...I tried, but I just don't have the UMPH I need to get a good workout/practice. *sigh*

Either that or one of the children who was sick recently this week has so generously passed his sickly-germies onto me. Why do parents send their childrens to school sick so they can spread the germy wealth?! Come on people! That's a rant worthy to go up on the ranting blog. The schools encourage parents to keep children home, but with these handicapped ones, school is like free daycare so off they go regardless! GRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrr....

My Merlin Bird is being ooberly, annoyingly, noisy and she has done nothing but drive me batty with her constant whistling. UGH...maybe this is PMS I dunno...I haven't had to deal with a normal cycle for 4 years and I know it has to be close to that time happening soon. It's been over a month since I had that IUD removed. But then my cycle has never run on a regular scheduel.

I hope it does not rain all day tomorrow. They predict showers but hopefully not all day otherwsie I am gonna be one bored lady!

I put an ad up on the Housecleaning pages for spinning supplies asking for a used Louet S10 and how much I am willing to pay, MAX, plus shipping. Someone emailed me and offered me one in good condition for one-forty! WOW, how affordable is that!? It only has one bobbin, but I know where I can get more of those locally. She is in Illinois, but mentioned that we could meet somewhere in Wisconsin to exchange cash for wheel. SWEeeEEET! See? My spells/chants work!

Gosh I am so tired. I woke up this morning well before my alarm was to go off and I could not sleep any longer so I got up. Maybe that was a mistake!!

Then on a metro route I did this morning, the lift on the van I drive decided to give me grief and I had to work it manually (OYE!) and then I had to pick up a second wheel chair in addition the the guy in one I already had on the van...and when I went to fold up the back seat so I could fit two people in wheel chairs into the van...the damned seat would not go up! OH! *faint* Major equipment failure this morning! So I had to call base and have them send someone else out to get this person who was only goin a few blocks down the road.

TGFI INDEED! I cannot wait till after work today when I can crash and burn!! *faint*

Until next time...

Social Knittings VS Solitary Knittings

I came across this topic while watching the latest episode of Lets Knit2gether .

I noticed that a lot of the people interviewed had mentioned that they learned to knit on thier own, as a solitary endeavor but made it sound undesirable. WELL...knowing me, I have to offer up the opposing view that PREFERS to knit alone.

I really don't enjoy going to knitting "circles"...who has time to talk when you need to pay attention to a pattern? Who has time to chat when you are not as skilled to be able to knit while not watching every stitch you knit? I've gone to our local knitters guild which is a hefty 300+ group and I find the meetings to be overly crowded, noisy, and just plain boring...at times painfully so!

They do invite venders to the meetings, but I have noticed that they seem to bring the most expensive yarns they carry! Not all knitters are filthy rich, and not all knitters knit because they have oodles of money to blow on yarn that will end up being thrown in a "stash" and most likely never used! I sure don't have oodles of extra money to spend. I've ended up spinning most of what I knit (because I can get 10 times or more as much yarn out of a $50 fleece than I can from 3 skiens of overpriced yarn for the same amount of money-and that would probably not be enough to knit what I would prefer to knit out of it...therefor spending even MORE money to finish a UFO started with it)- but besides that, I usually cannot afford anything from the guild venders. I am just dissapointed from expecting too much. I became a member with high expectations...I really should not do that! LOL

I for one prefer the solitary part of knitting alone. It gives me a chance to slow down and reflect (if I am not following a complex pattern). I feel the same about spinning. When I spin, I tend to go into a meditative state and I am able to reflect.

I'm the odd ball...I like being alone-because then I can actually get something done and be more productive than listening to or spreading local gossip (or bitching about what we heard on the news this morning, or how the president is so good or so bad...there is nothing anyone can do about it, why waste precious time bitching about it when we could be finishing that UFO!! LMAO).

Although I do enjoy the OCCASIONAL outting to a late night knit at a coffee shop/deli/yarn store that is Sow's Ear in Verona WI, but my attendence is a rarity anymore because it has just become unnessecary and boring to me. Not to mention the local gossip hounds are usually in full roaring swing by the time I arrive...bleh...the noise, the drama, the crowds....I just don't find it enjoyable. One lady who goes talks so damned loud that it hurts my ears! And she talks about shit no one really cares to hear more of, or she talks like she knows the president personally. They really ought to say something about that because it is driving away potential business. When I did go, I always bought something to eat and drink, never any yarn because I feel they have overpriced a lot of stuff that I get get cheaper elsewhere-but STILL-I bought SOMETHING from them even if that overpriced piece of what I would not call a real sandwhich isn't enough to satisfy me.

Until next time...
